I finished sock #1! I ran into one large obstacle while finishing it. I bound off the ankle way too tight, so I couldn't get the sock to fit over my heel when I tried to put it on. I would normally just chalk this up to a knitting failure and knit the second sock the same way so it wouldn't fit either. At least I would have a set. This time I took out the bind off and redid it with needles that were 3 sizes bigger than the ones I was using. This made all the difference. I was patient, and now the sock fits and looks really good on my foot! I'm way excited about it. I will post a picture as soon as I get my computer set up. My apartment is still filled with a good amount of clutter. We did get rid of a lot of it though.
I started a pair of mittens before I do the 2nd sock. The pattern is over on the right hand side there. I'm using this really nice merino yarn in charcoal, gray, and navy. I know it's not the season for these mittens, but oh well. I will have plenty of warm weather gear for next winter!
Tonight, Santina and I are going to a bar and I'm VERY excited. I have to get up super early tomorrow and get my car before I go to work, so nothing too crazy. It will be fun though. It will be our first time going out in Harvard Square.
