Wow it's been a long stretch this time. I finished the Rugby Striped Mittens and finally successfully felted the Flappers. Sadly, there will not be any photos of the mittens, because they were already given away. I will take pictures of the flappers in due time. They do look A LOT more rediculous than I thought they would look, and I will explain everything when I post the pictures.
I also knit an entire tank top without even posting anything about it! Sigma was a fun, quick project to get me in the spring clothing spirit. I used my silk/wool blend in the parrot colors I bought on ebay last summer. It is all blocked and everything and fits pretty well considering that there is absolutely no shaping. I'll post pictures of this soon as well. Just this past weekend I set up my computer in my new apartment. Yes, this is now slow the unpacking process has been. As for the falling leaves...I finished the first sock and have not started the 2nd one yet. The first one came out a lot better than I thought, but there are still some small mistakes I can't take my eyes off. All in all, a successful first ever sock.
Today, I've been reading about Kool-Aid yarn dying and I'm DYING to try it (haha). There is a pretty good explanation of it here. KnitPicks has some plain "dye your own yarn" yarn for $3.99/skein in sock weight and worsted weight. That seems pretty cheap, and Kool-Aid is what? like $1?? I gotta try it. Maybe....I mean..maybe..I could make some pretty cool colors and sell the skeins, and maybe make a small profit. I don't even want to mention it, because it's such a crazy wish. If not, I can just knit with it. It's getting me so excited that it's hard to sit here right now. I can get some big jars from my Mom's house. The only things I would really need are some of those squeezy things to squirt the yarn out for handpaints, a screen and small tub on which to do the squirting, and some hooks to dry the yarn on. Man, that would be so cool!!
