101 Things in 1001 Days

I have been reading a lot of other people's lists, and I just had to jump on this bandwagon.

100 Things in 1001 Days

Basically, you choose 100 goals you want to reach in 2.75 years.  Below is my list.  I will update this post as I complete things and blog about them along the way.  I am pretty excited about this.  I feel like I have lost the whole goal setting and accomplishment part of my life ever since I stopped being a student.  I want to learn to live my regular non-student life with my student mind that is totally still in there somewhere!  I tried to make these goals all things that I wouldn't normally do in my life how it is now without extra motivation and effort.  I also wanted to separate these from my Knitting Resolutions.  Some of these are kind of ambitious, but I want to be ambitious!  So, here is my list:

1. Move out of MA.

2. Take time off - about 2-3 months (yikes!).

3. Read Time Off! The Upside to Downtime and Choice Theory.
4. Join a new knitting group and go regularly.

5. Start grief counseling re: my dad.
6. Remove the phrase "I have to" from my vocabulary and replace it with "I will" or "I want to" - make a conscious effort and journal about it for 3 months. (0/3)
7. Keep an artist journal for 6 months & create 1 piece a week. (0/24)
8. Visit another country (not Canada or Mexico).
9. Get a snail mail penpal.
10. Hike 20 mountains (4/20).

11. Visit the West Coast 5 times. (2/5)

12. Design a cross stitch pattern & complete it.
13. Read 50 novels. (33/50)

14. Complete a week-long detox/fast.
15. Take a class that is several weeks long (on anything).

16. Start a campfire by myself while camping.
17. Install shelving in my apartment.
18. Learn how to frame things.
19. Wear skirts or dresses everyday for three weeks. (0/21)
20. Go to the dentist.
21. No alcohol for 3 months. (3/3)

22. Complete a photo essay.
23. Bike ride 3 times a week for 2 months. (0/24)
24. Donate blood 9 times. (2/9)

25. Research the genealogy of my mom's side of the family.
26. Get up at 5am everyday for 3 weeks. (0/3)

35. Put $1 in a piggy bank everyday (that's $1001!!). (101/1001)
36. Get a professional portrait of me & Timmy taken.
37. Send thank you packages to my knitting swap people.
38. Decoupage the cigar boxes I have.

39. Try 50 beers I have never tried and keep a journal. (0/50)
40. Make biodegradable bird feeders and hang them on some trees.
41. Find a place to try archery again and do it.
42. Take a photography class (that maybe will provide equipment).
43. Gather old family photos (circa me & Timmy's childhood) from my mom and dad and make them into albums.
44. Bake homemade bread from scratch.
45. See the 7 wonders of PA. (5/7)

46. Get a (natural) tan.
47. Complete an artist trading card series.
48. Take a weaving class.
49. Bake 10 vegan recipes. (0/10)
50. Read all articles in my knitting magazines within a week of their arrival/purchase.
51. Develop a filing system for my bills and paperwork.
52. Make a knitting/relaxation area in my apartment with no TV in the space.
53. Make a zine.

55. Incorporate a GTD device in my everyday life to try it out.
56. Finish Riley and Emily's wedding presents and give them!

71. Find a new way to organize my craft/knitting stuff.
72. Declutter all of my apartment to get ready for my move.

85. Compile all of my favorite recipes into one place.

87. Take a career interests test.
88. Visit Canada.
89. Dress up for Halloween at least once.
90. Focus on taking care of my face for two months. (0/2)
91. Keep a one sentence journal everyday for 1 year. (98/365)
92. Make a block print.

93. Learn how to hand bind a book.
94. Grow my FeedBurner subscriber numbers to at least 50.

95. Make 10 pieces of digital art. (0/10)
96. Make an organized space to dock my laptop.
97. Make a pottery something with my mom.

99. Get my mom's Christmas cookie recipes and make Christmas cookies in 2008 and 2009. (1/2)

This is so cool! I shall make a list as well. And this letterboxing thing...I have never before in my life heard of this. I shall read more as I am very curious!
