Ok, so I've been traveling every weekend for the past three weekends and I've been having a BLAST. I'm going to blog about them in installments. This is installment #1: Troy. I went to Troy 3 weekends ago to visit my friends and it was awesome. On Friday, I went to the Ruck with Will, Steph, Darren, Ola, Joely, and Robert. We ate free wings and drank a lot of happy hour priced beers. We got to catch up and talk and laugh at the funny career fair alumni and frat people that were in there. After the Ruck, we headed over to the Irish Mist which is this really cool bar right near Will and Steph's house. We had some kind of food with a dip, which is I think what left the questionable stain on my pants I discovered the next day. On our way home at the end of the night I totally took a drunken fall and twisted my ankle.
On Saturday, Will, Steph, and I went to the lamest nature preserve ever. I don't remember what it was called, but it was out by Castleton. We walked along the Hudson which was actually quite nice. There were a lot of huge houses and it was a nice sunny day. There was also a lot of garbage and strategically placed picnic areas that just looked like they've been ignored for some time. After that, we ate lunch in Castleton at Stewarts (because there was seriously no other place to get food in that small, small town). Then we went back home to prepare some enchiladas for dinner and Darren and Ola's. Dinner at Darren and Ola's was really fun. We ate a lot of Mexican food and watched The Beach (haha) and Maverick. I knitted almost the whole time, but it was good that I did. Saturday night, I went with Robert to some of his Outing Club friends' house.
Sunday I played Carcassone with Will & Steph and then we got lunch at the Flavor Cafe. It was a really great weekend, and it was really nice to spend some time with some of my best friends. Troy is a really great city, and it's really cool to see how Will & Steph are becoming townies and being part of their community. They're house is really coming along too. They're putting so much work into it, but it's going to turn out great! I will be in Troy again for Fake Thanksgiving and I can't wait!
Stay tuned to for the next installement of Rosie's weekend adventures.
