Every year I struggle to get into the Christmas spirit. I get so stressed out about buying people presents in time and getting good presents and did I get enough presents for everyone? I feel that if the whole presents thing was eliminated, I would LOVE Christmas. I love doing the Christmas-ey things like decorating a tree, making cookies, watching holiday movies, doing things with family, etc. I wish I could just do this stuff and eliminate the presents all together. I do love giving things if I get a great present, but I wish I could just do nice things and give people gifts when I felt it was appropriate, whatever time of the year that may be. I did decorate my little 4 foot tree that my mom gave me. She sent me off to Boston with two boxes fill or ornaments. They almost didn't all fit on the tree. I have a lot of ornaments that I have made, and also ones that were always on our tree at home, so really enjoyed taking them out and hanging them up here. It's a little piece of home and my family.
I've also seemed to amass quite a snowman collection also. My mom made the two clay ones on the left. One is the Snowman, and the other is wearing a knit hat and scarf. My grandma made the taller fabric snowman, and also the wooden light up one. The other items were store bought. Yesterday I baked some cookies and watched a Charlie Brown Christmas on tv. I really like the holidays and doing all of these things every year, but every single time I have stepped foot in a store since Thanksgiving, my feelings towards Christmas immediately turn sour. I'm wondering if, as I grow up, I can sort of eliminate the presents from Christmas and make it really more about the holiday. It's something to think about.

OMG you stole my rant. I feel the exact same way.
