Justin visited me this weekend and took some pictures of my new sweater. I'm SO HAPPY WITH THIS!! I'm actually wearing it today to work! It is a lot warmer than it looks - perfect for the office. The arm holes really did stretch out a bit after blocking. so I was happy about that as well.
You can see that the lace pattern on the upper body is slightly different than the pattern on the sleeves. I think it still looks ok. This is a great sweater to start off the new year! I am very anxious to get started on another one, but that means I will have to make a large yarn purchase. I am trying to knit some smaller things and maybe finish up a 2007 WIP or two (ugh) before I do another large project like a sweater.
Last week during knitting night, I whipped out the Center Square hat. You can see the colors a bit better in this pictures. I like how snug it is, and this is only the 2nd or so colorwork project that I have done, and I'm pretty happy with the way it looks. This picture was taken in front of the Boston Museum of Science. We went to go see the Sea Monsters Omni movie and it was pretty cool. Some of Champy's distant relatives made an appearance which made me really happy. Justin is pretty awesome for going with me to see this.
I didn't have enough yellow yarn to finish, so I just topped the hat off with purple. I think it looks great! As you can see, I am sporting my holiday chin. That will need to go. All of the warmish weather has just made me think that spring is right around the corner. Today we got about a foot of snow, so at least I will have enough reason to keep on knitting winter wear for a while!
Cherie, you look stunning in your Cherie. What a beautiful object!
The Mugar Omni Theater just isn't the same without Leonard Nimoy anymore, but I hope you had a fun time. Did you do other stuff at the museum?

Wow! They both look great. Your sweater is a fantastic way to start off the new year. I love the color work on the hat, and have wanted to make that hat...but I am chicken. The color work is scarrrrrrrry. Kudos to you! It sounds like the movie was interesting too. Did you ever get to read that little book about Champy when you were in Elementary school? Hahhaa.

I dig this hat. Snug, knitted hats suit you. I can't say the same for myself, unfortunately. It's this prominent nose of mine that lets me down. I have to have a sticky-outty bit on a hat in order for it to look nice on me.
I am currently knitting a sweater for my husband. He makes faces at it and asks me if he will have to wear white pants now. I think it's his subtle way of saying it looks like it belongs in the 80's.
