Last weekend I was in a mood where I didn't really feel like knitting (I know, right?) or doing anything else. I was bored. I know it's a bad sign when I get bored. It rarely happens, and it usually means that I'm not happy or stressed out about something. I hate it when I get like that. Last fall I bought a needle felting kit from the Thistledown Alpacas booth at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. It sat on my shelf since then, but I finally pulled it out and decided that I was going to make these little ducks. It was just the thing I needed to pull me out of my boredom.
Needle felting is really easy! It was really cool to make these little ducks. I felt like a sculpture! I totally see the potential of this craft to allow you to really be an artist and easily make your own unique creations. The only thing I had a problem with was accidentally poking myself with the sharp felting needles. I'm not sure if I'll take up needle felting in a serious way any time soon, but it was a fun little project.
Those are SO CUTE!
